After a stressful evening and morning of wondering if we had all the correct documentation for our flights, the Lord showed us once again, "I got this" and we arrived safely on a Saturday afternoon.
We were met by Elder Rob and Sister Jan Boardman, a wonderful couple who have been serving here for 12 months. We are their replacements. This is our soon to be apartment.
This is the view our the back sliding door patio of our soon to be apartment. The Big Dome is the Parliament Building. Budapest is a big, busy city with cars, bikes, buses, trams and trains. Our Apartment is on the Pest side of the Danube river. (only 1 block away) We are on the 5th floor.
We are currently staying in a lovely AirBnb right around the corner, until the Boardman's flight home in a week or so. This is our kitchen and the garden out our front door. And That View!
Sunday we attended the Pest Ward, for The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. They have translators so everything is said in Hungarian, then in English. We are so impressed with their ability to speak multiple languages.
We have been spending our days, seeing the city, doing paperwork, taking driving tests, learning the Humanitarian Aid Software, attending Zoom meetings with missionaries in Hungary, Romania, Germany, Slovakia, Austria and more that I can't pronounce. We have spent some evenings on Technology with our children, helping us figure out this digital world, and of course being reminded that we have the best Children and Grandchildren ever.
We ride the Villa-Musz across the river to Buda, where the mission home is. This is our Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Ruckers from Florida. They are in the middle of serving here for 3 years. We had a delicious lunch, the food here is very good.
We are adjusting slowly to the time difference. We are excited about the Aid projects in the works and the opportunity for the Lord to help us find more places to serve. We hope to be able to show you what we will be doing soon. We feel we are in the "right" place, even though sometimes it feels "a strange" place. The people are not quite sure what to do with our smiling faces, sometimes..... but they have been very kind. One thing that is fun, is a lot of people have dogs. All sizes and shapes. They walk them around the city all day long, and the dogs are so obedient. I have only seen 1 dog bark. They calmly walk by you, not bothered by you at all (like their owners)
Love to all. You are missed!

Glad you guys made it safe and sound. Looks like a neat place. Love ya both!!
